If you’re not aware, “Jump” is Google’s professional VR video solution. Google is now ready for the next gen of Jump, and has partnered with Yi Technology and made a brand new camera. The $17k camera is called the Yi Halo, featuring 17 Yi 4K cams: 16 along the circumference and one placed in the middle facing up. The camera can generate 8k x 8k stereoscopic VR content at 30fps, as well as 6k x 6k content at 60 frames per second.
Google has also announced a program called “Jump Start”, which aims to give filmmakers free access to a Jump camera, click here to apply (deadline is May 22nd).
